High-speed chase ends in Leake marsh
Two Walnut Grove men were arrested and charged after leading Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase through town that ended in a Leake County marsh earlier this month. The driver, Matthew Dillion Whitacre, 22, 138 Cobble Stone Road, Walnut Grove, was arrested and charged with felony pursuit, DUI, reckless driving, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia.

A Silver Alert was issued for a missing Carthage man. 60-year-old David Todd Stewart is 5’6″ and weighs 147 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes. The Leake County Sheriff’s Department said he was last seen on Tuesday, June 18 around 9:00 a.m. in the 700 block of Midway Road in Leake County walking.
