One Killed, One Injured in Leake ATV Accident
The driver of an ATV was killed when he lost control of the vehicle in a curve on a Leake County road. A passenger was injured and was airlifted to a Jackson hospital. The accident happened Thursday in the St. Ann community south of Thomastown. Sheriff Randy Atkinson says the man who was dead at the scene, Timothy Ford, 62, was a resident of the community. The other victim, William Stevens, 74, was from Camden.

Person Shot in the Head at Galilee Homecoming
CARTHAGE, Miss.–A man was shot in the head at the Galilee Homecoming event on Harmony Community Rd. Saturday night. The shooting happened after Leake County deputies were called to the event to take a report about someone spinning out and throwing rocks, damaging vehicles. When the deputy who initially responded was leaving the scene, he was called back because someone was making threats.
