The Sun Belt Conference preseason coaches poll was released Monday and expectations are low for Southern Miss football after its 3-9 season. The poll was split into the Sun Belt's two divisions, with Southern Miss picked to finish in second-to-last place in the West with 31 points. Louisiana-Monroe was chosen for last place in the West with 16 points, while Georgia State, in the East Division, was the only other team with fewer points (19) than Southern Miss.
