LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) — Court documents are shedding new light on an assault that left a 17-year-old boy shot on July 3 in a Leander subdivision.

According to an arrest affidavit from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, the boy’s mom dropped him off at a home in the Summerlyn subdivision. The boy thought he was meeting up with just one of his friends. When he arrived, he would soon learn they were not alone.

Inside the garage there were seven people — five who would later be charged — in the case for what officials said happened over the next few hours, court records state.

When the boy entered the garage, he was immediately attacked, and his cellphone was taken from him, according to the affidavit.

The group would eventually move from the garage to the backyard where the attacks continued for about 20 minutes, court records state.

According to the affidavit, the teen was forced to drink from a dog bowl, and at one point, he was forced to lick dog waste.

At one point, a man pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot and kill him. Eventually, court documents said, the group loaded the teen into a car, put his T-shirt over his head and drove down the block.

They took him to train tracks and forced him to walk, all while pointing a gun on at his back, according to the affidavit.

When the group stopped walking is when they shot the teen in the leg. The group then gave back his cellphone and ran off, court records state.

The boy called his girlfriend who picked him up and took him to the hospital. That’s the first time WCSO talked to the victim, according to the affidavit.

“We were first contacted by the victim himself and the hospital where he went with his injury,” Commander John Foster of the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said.

The teen is expected to be OK, according to WCSO. Two others, including the friend he thought he was visiting, have not been charged.

Foster said no more arrests are expected. Deputies were able to find some clues to the people involved in the shooting because of videos previously posted on social media.
