Meet Zavier Gussett, sports reporter at the Lebanon Daily News

For my first post, it’s only right for me to introduce myself a bit and how I came to report for the Lebanon Daily News.

My name is Zavier; I'm a lifelong Pennsylvanian who hails from the Poconos. I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree from Penn State University and can say that I’ve loved staying within the state thus far.

Now that I’m stepping into Lebanon County, I’m excited to interact within the community, learn about its sports history and where the stories lie.

Before this gig, I covered Penn State sports for the campus’ newspaper and had some awesome opportunities to cover top-tier sports programs while making great relationships. Along with that, I’ve also directed my own media network called Call The Huddle.

I’ve managed the brand since 2018 — it’s allowed me to cover football at all levels while interviewing and collaborating with lots of professionals in the sport.

During my time in school, developing multimedia became one of my favorite ways to tell a story.

I’ve turned photography, design and production into hobbies for myself, and so you’ll find me posting interviews, graphics and other projects through the lens. The area I’m coming to has plenty of great scenery and sports venues, so I can’t wait to include the visuals into my work.

After reading about my background and the work I enjoy, it should be clear that my day-to-day life revolves around athletics and the entertainment that comes from it.
