Global tech glitch halts flights and disrupts services worldwide, including in Maine
A major IT outage on Friday is affecting computer systems across the globe, including in Maine. The outage is impacting airports, banks, and media companies to name a few. Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said that the issue believed to be behind the outage was not a security incident or cyberattack — and that a fix was on the way. The company said the problem occurred when it deployed a faulty update to computers running Microsoft Windows.

Aroostook County Commissioners denied a Caribou property owner’s tax abatement appeal on Wednesday during their regular meeting in Houlton.
