Lincoln County native among top scorers for Team USA Wheelchair Rugby’s narrow loss to Japan
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - USA’s wheelchair rugby team narrowly lost to Japan 45-42 during day two of pool play at the Paralympic Games in Paris. The matchup took place early Friday morning, with Josh O’Neill, a former Lincoln County resident, contributing three goals, placing him among the top four scorers for Team USA.

Eagles Fall In Season Opener
The Chadron State Eagles fell to Nebraska-Kearney in their 2024 season opener, losing 18-6. The Lopers scored two touchdowns in the first half, with an opening drive touchdown and a 50-yard touchdown pass. Chadron State managed to kick two field goals but struggled offensively, particularly in the second half, where they were unable to score. The result marks a loss in the inaugural clash for the Good Life Trophy, a new annual rivalry.

New autism center opens in underserved Nebraska area
KEARNEY, Neb. — A new resource for kids with autism has opened up in a traditionally underserved part of Nebraska. Lighthouse Autism Center opened its first location in Kearney and third location in Nebraska. The center uses applied behavior analysis, a therapy method that focuses on teaching kids what is considered positive social skills and behaviors.
