LEBANON, Ohio (WDTN) — Hundreds of butterflies are set to be released in Warren County.

On Aug. 10 at 10 a.m., the city of Lebanon will release the butterflies at Miller Ecological Park, located at 755 Miller Road in Lebanon.

Dayton leader testifies on Capitol Hill in support of community funding

“The butterfly garden is a sanctuary to Monarch butterflies, a species that is currently seeing a decline in their population,” the city said. “To attract Monarch butterflies, the butterfly garden has a variety of host plants, specifically Milkweed, that entices Monarchs to visit and raise their families there.”

Before the event, a monarch run/walk will occur from 8:45 to 10 a.m. at the Gaga Pit at the same address. To register, you can click here . The registration fee is $30.

You can purchase a butterfly on the same day at the event for just $5.
