The Lebanon Driver Services Center at 204 Maddox Simpson Parkway will be temporary closed through at least January, officials announced last week.

The facility temporarily closed on July 15.

New building space and expanded parking with fresh paint and new flooring are planned, according to the Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security.

Lebanon is taking steps on an agreement with the state for a mobile office to be set up during the remodel on city owned property near Tennessee Boulevard and Park Drive, City Attorney Andy Wright said.

The city council still needs to approve the temporary location, officials said. It wasn’t immediately certain when the temporary location would be up and running if approved.

While Lebanon's Driver Service Center is closed, area residents can visit other nearby centers, self-service kiosks or use online services at tn.gov/safety/driver-services/online.html . The Wilson County Clerk’s Office, 129 S. College Street in Lebanon, is available by appointment only.
