PADUCAH—Martha's Vineyard's "Junk Food Sale" helped the organization raise money, which will go toward a carport to keep food cooler outside. Martha's Vineyard helps feed those in need who are homebound, senior citizens, veterans, and handicapped. They provide meals and food supplies like butter, flour, eggs, etc., to those who cannot leave their homes.
Kids Creative Arts Street Fair benefits attendees and local businesses
PADUCAH—The 11th Kids Creative Arts Street Fair, hosted by Market House Theatre, featured benefits for attendees, volunteers, and nearby businesses. The fair featured 12 vendors—all of which were nonprofit art and culture groups in Paducah, as well as educational programming. Children could participate in activities at each booth, such as dressing in costumes, dancing, making crafts, and more.
Kentucky State Fair announces largest watermelon & pumpkin
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Kentucky’s 2024 Largest Watermelon and Pumpkin Contest ended Saturday and the results are in. Dwight Slone of Floyd County was awarded with the largest pumpkin. His pumpkin weighed in at 1,133 pounds. Frank Mudd of Meade County was awarded with the largest watermelon. His watermelon weighed in at 233.2 pounds.

COVINGTON, Ky. (WXIX) - The Safer Kentucky Act became law a month ago, which outlawed camping on non-designated public or private property. The law is drawing criticism from shelter directors for targeting the homeless and failing to address issues like housing. Kim Webb, director of the Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky in Covington, said the law is clearly aimed at the homeless, who often have no place to turn once shelters are full.
