But now he’s on a path to change that as he introduces Burks Spring Bourbon — bottled in Crestwood — and shares his family’s unique story behind it. “When I retired, someone told me I should ‘get back into’ the bourbon business …” Burks says, in order to follow in the footsteps of his great-great-great-grandfather, George Richard Burks.
Kentucky Men’s Basketball Unveils Exciting Exhibition Matches
The Kentucky men's basketball team has announced two exhibition games for the 2024-25 season, scheduled for October 23 against Kentucky Wesleyan and October 29 vs. Minnesota State Mankato, both at Rupp Arena. Notably, this season marks the first exhibition match against Kentucky Wesleyan since 2004 and the squad's first competition under Coach Mark Pope. Prior to these games, Big Blue Madness is set for October 11, kicking off the team's activities. Kentucky has a strong history in exhibitions, currently on a 31-game winning streak. The roster for the upcoming season boasts a mix of experienced veterans and promising freshmen.
