Tupelo man charged over incident in the Auburn community

SUMMARY: A Tupelo man, Kenneth Clardy, is in the Lee County jail after allegedly making sexual comments to a juvenile and then hitting the juvenile's father with his vehicle. The incident occurred in the Auburn Community, where Clardy was visiting a friend's home. When the juvenile's father confronted Clardy about the inappropriate comments, Clardy reportedly hit him with his vehicle while the father was on an ATV. Clardy has been arrested and has a bond set at $250,000.
Tupelo man charged with assault, child enticement
TUPELO – A Lee County man is facing multiple felony charges after a friendly visit in the Auburn community escalated. Lee County deputy sheriffs were called to a residence in the Auburn community on June 13 for a report of an aggravated assault. Witnesses told the responding deputies that Kenneth Clardy, 49, of South Veterans, Tupelo, was visiting a friend’s home and made comments of a sexual nature to a juvenile.

Tupelo man accused of Oxford sexual assault
OXFORD – A Lee County man has been arrested and charged with a sexual assault that happened two months ago. Oxford police took a report of sexual assault in mid-April. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Brandon Levon Gates, 26, Tupelo, on a charge of sexual battery. He was booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center but has since been released on a $50,000 bond.
Lee County Library book sale returns this weekend
TUPELO — For the second time this year, the local library will roll open the doors of its garage to sell books to the public. The Friends of the Lee County Library, a volunteer group that raises money to support the Lee County Library, will host their latest fundraising book sale this Saturday, June 15, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Lee County Library.
