Troy Rookie All-Stars compete in World Series
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... The Troy All-Stars represented Alabama at the Dixie Ozone Rookies (11U) World Series in Mississippi this past weekend. Troy went 2-2 at the World Series. They opened up the World Series with a 8-5 win over Livingston on July 18. Cole Cleveland led Troy at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, while Elliot Cochran went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Barrett Powell and Cochran pitched two innings each. Cochran struck out two and gave up two hits and two earned runs, while Powell struck out three and gave up no hits or earned runs.

MOODY, Ala. — An officer with the Homewood Police Department is expected to make a full recovery after a man shot at him early Sunday morning in Moody. 2 arrested in connection to drug trafficking in Colbert Co.
SHEFFIELD, Ala. (WAFF) - Two people were arrested in connection to trafficking drugs in Colbert County on Friday morning. According to the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant was issued at a home on 13th Avenue in Sheffield. At the house, deputies said 40 grams of methamphetamine, a 22 caliber rifle, and $388 were found.
Victory Cheer Academy introducing new Victory Gymnastics program in September
CULLMAN, Ala. – Victory Cheer Academy recently announced the launch of its new gymnastics program, Victory Gymnastics, with evaluations scheduled from Aug. 20-23, from 4-7 p.m. As spaces are limited, prospective participants are encouraged to book their slots early to ensure enrollment. Additionally, early registrants will receive a $30 discount on September tuition. ‘It means a lot to us’: 138 participate in 11th annual Nicholas Fillinger Memorial Run
CULLMAN, Ala. – The 11th annual Nicholas Fillinger Memorial Run was hosted at St. Bernard Saturday morning and the falling rain didn’t stop a crowd of family, friends and supporters from gathering to support the cause. 138 runners participated in this year’s event and in addition to providing a scholarship to a local student, the funds from this year’s run will also go to support The Link of Cullman County.
