Viva La Fiesta Mexican restaurant to open Sept. 4 in downtown Springfield
A Mexican restaurant with a Troy location hosted a one-day soft opening at its new downtown Springfield spot Wednesday, and has a grand opening next week. Viva La Fiesta, located at 42 N. Fountain Ave., will invited customers to experience its large food and drinks menu during its soft opening Wednesday. Owners said customers can expect a fun atmosphere at the restaurant’s grand opening Sept. 4.

Police arrest man for allegedly trespassing during bike path patrol
WILMINGTON, OHIO — Police arrested a Wilmington man during a foot patrol along the city’s bike paths early morning Aug. 20, according to a news release. Officers discovered multiple encampments in the wooded area behind Clinton Memorial Hospital. During their investigation, they found Joshua Anderson allegedly hiding near a bridge on the east side of Nelson Avenue. After being instructed to come out of hiding, Anderson reached for a knife on his hip, police said. He complied with the order to place his hands on his head and was taken into custody, where he was charged with criminal trespass and transported to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office for booking.

Rite Aid set to close all but four of its Ohio drugstore locations
Rite Aid confirmed this week that it will be closing all but four of its Ohio drugstore locations. A Rite Aid spokesperson said the closures will be taking place by the end of September. Of the four Ohio locations that will remain open, two are local. The Wooster store on Cleveland Road will remain open, as will the Claremont Avenue location, in Ashland. The other two locations that will continue to operate are in Uhrichsville and Cambridge. Rite Aid filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year.
High school sports come at a price in some Northeast Ohio districts
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Pay to Play, or Pay to Participate, varies from district to district, from hundreds of dollars a sport to nothing at all. Mentor High School Athletic Director Jeff Cassella said it’s “$200 for the first sport and it’s $50 for each sport after that at the high school level” for his district.
