CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Local doctors are among the first in the nation to use a new device to help patients in heart failure. The team at The Christ Hospital shared their breakthrough on Tuesday. It could make a big difference in the future for those living with heart disease. It’s a first-of-its-kind sensor implant for heart patients. It’s part of a clinical trial.
Closed Clermont County restaurant to get new owners
CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - The owners of a Clermont County restaurant that shut down in May say a sale is pending. Stone House Restaurant and Bar first opened on Ohio Pike in Pierce Township in March of 2023. Prior to the closure, the restaurant turned to social media for help but announced the end in May 2024 in a Facebook post.
Cincinnati Base Ball Club formed 158 years ago today
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Tuesday, July 23, marks the 158th anniversary of the first few steps in the making of professional baseball. The Cincinnati Base Ball Club (now spelled baseball) formed in 1866 and created the constitution and by-laws for what professional baseball is today. The club joined the National Association of Base Ball Players (NABBP) one year later.

Residents have debated the DORA – designated outdoor refreshment area – for months. On one side have been business owners and event organizers who say it will boost business. The other side has included recovering alcoholics and family members who say it will set a poor example for kids and encourage bad behavior.
New restaurant opens in Old North Dayton: ‘They closed their chapter and I’m starting mine’
A new restaurant serving pizza, subs and more has opened in the former spot of Paisano’s Pizza Pub in Old North Dayton. Christine Fowler, who owns 201 Tavern with her husband, Shante, said she has always wanted to own her own restaurant/bar. Fowler had been working at the post office for about 12 years when the opportunity to open a restaurant came about. She said she is friends with the Condi family, who previously owned and operated Paisano’s Pizza Pub for more than 50 years. The restaurant had closed in September 2023.
