The woman was pronounced dead from hyperthermia at 11:24 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, according to the coroner's release. She was "exposed to severe heat conditions within her residence" and the manner of death was accidental, Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said.

Temperatures in greater Allentown reached into the high 90s on Wednesday, July 18, the National Weather Service said.

The woman has been identified but authorities said they are withholding her name to allow loved ones to grieve privately.
