LVIA holds steady after record summer travel

After a record setting summer season, Lehigh Valley International Airport is reporting that passenger traffic remained steady in September.

In fact, it was up slightly over last year. This year 75,472 passengers used the airport in September, which is a 4.8% increase from September of last year when 72,031 passengers traveled through LVIA.

“We’re always excited to share the news of growth in passenger activity, especially since the Airport historically experiences a significant slowdown with the end of summer vacations and with schools back in session,” said Thomas R. Stoudt, executive director of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority.

Of the airlines flying out of LVIA, American jumped 16.2% and Allegiant was up 3%. Meanwhile, Delta remained flat and United declined 3.1% from last September.

A total of 20,108,043 pounds of air cargo was processed through the airport in September. That’s a decrease of 16% from September 2023.
