    12 people displaced after Lehighton blaze

    LEHIGHTON, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities say crews were working to put out an hours-long blaze that displaced 12 people in Lehighton Thursday evening.

    Officials confirm firefighters from the Lehighton Fire Department and four other departments were called at 6:55 p.m. to the 300 block of North 1st Street for a reported third-alarm structure fire.

    No injuries have been reported, according to public officials.

    Authorities say the Red Cross was called to the scene and 12 people were displaced.

    According to officials, crews were still on scene battling the fire as of 10:00 p.m.

    A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
