Nebraska to host class of 2026 offensive lineman
The Nebraska Cornhuskers will host a class of 2026 offensive linemen this weekend. Deacon Schmitt will visit the Lincoln campus on July 27. Schmitt is a 6-foot-5, 290 offensive tackle from Windsor High School in Windsor, CO. He will take a visit to Oklahoma two days prior to his visit with the Cornhuskers. The prospect earned a scholarship offer from Nebraska after performing well in a Husker-run football camp in Lincoln last month. Offensive line coach Donovan Raiola extended the offer. Nebraska currently does not hold any commitments to the class of 2026. However, a flurry of recent offers has taken place as the 2025 cycle winds down, heading into the 2024 college football season. Nebraska football on a quest to finally meet the media's expectations
It's July, so that means Big Ten Media Days are underway. The annual Big Ten Media Preseason Poll was released to kick off the event, with Ohio State expected to be the conference’s best team while the Huskers come in at 8th. This aligns with my expectations for Nebraska football in 2024, but over the last decade, the media has been wrong about one team more than any other. As I’ve written, Nebraska football has been on a historic run of falling short of expectations.
