California Layoffs Surge: 227 Companies Announce Alarming Job Losses

More and more people are losing their jobs in California. Based on new data, businesses in California have announced plans to lay off 12,926 workers across 227 companies so far in 2024.

By law, large companies must give workers a 60-day warning before laying off 50 or more people at one location. This rule allows workers time to get ready before losing their jobs.

With all the recent layoff announcements in California, many workers are now bracing for tough times ahead as they may soon be out of a job.

Below is a list of upcoming layoffs in California based on the latest WARN filings for 2024, in order of number of jobs:
