    A Kings County animal center is recognized for being a no-kill shelter

    KINGS COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – An animal adoption center in Kings County was recognized by the Best Friends Network as a no-kill shelter, the center announced on Thursday.

    Valley Animal Haven, which is located in Lemoore, received a plaque from the Best Friends organization for their work. According to the Best Friends website , the mission of Best Friends Animal Society is to bring about a time when there are no more homeless pets.

    Valley Animal Haven officials say that the kindness, donations, and those who volunteer have made it possible for them to maintain a no-kill status since 2014.

    The plaque that was given to them recognizes the Valley Animal Haven and Adoption Center for maintaining or achieving a no-kill status during the Calendar year in 2023 by exceeding a 90% save rate for cats and dogs. The plaque can be seen here .

    Valley Animal Haven says they are proud to be a part of the network that shares their mission to give animals a second chance at a happy life. They also say that this award is a testament to their hard work and the power and compassion of the community.
