    Elk Point-Jefferson walks off Lennox to reach region finals

    LENNOX, S.D. (KELO) — The Elk Point-Jefferson legion baseball team is headed to the Region 3B championship following a 3-2 walk-off win over Lennox on Wednesday.

    The game was a pitcher’s duel throughout, as hits and runs were limited.

    Lennox broke through first as Talen Eich scored on a wild pitch in the second inning.

    Post 174 would double their lead thanks to an RBI single from Jackson Anacker in the fifth.

    Keaton Gale and Ethan Bovill each singled in runs in the fifth as Elk Point-Jefferson tied the game.

    Post 134 got their first two runners on in the seventh. Bovill would single in Kayden Moore to claim the walk-off win.

    Brody Van Roekel threw a complete game for EPJ. He allowed one earned and one unearned run, while giving up five hits and striking out four.

    Anacker suffered the loss in 1.1 innings of relief. He allowed one run on four hits.

    Elk Point-Jefferson will play in Friday night’s championship game. Lennox is now in the losers bracket. They’ll play Friday night, prior to the championship.
