LINCOLN COUNTY, S.D. (KELO) — A 60-year-old man died in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 18 near Lennox on Tuesday.
According to the S.D. Department of Public Safety, a man was driving his Chevrolet Silverado 3:27 p.m. going east on U.S. Hwy 18 about five miles south of Lennox. That’s when the truck collided with a motorcycle while entering the left turning lane and attempting to turn north on 466th Ave.
Sturgis ER preparing for Sturgis Rally The driver of the motorcycle, a 60-year-old male, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Officials said he was not wearing a helmet.
According to court documents, Jerry Wallenstein, 68, was driving the Silverado. He is facing vehicular homicide, DWI, reckless driving, and failure to yield charges. He and a passenger were uninjured in the crash.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
