Jacksonville man arrested after returning to scene of B&E in Lenoir Co.
DEEP RUN - A Jacksonville man was arrested Friday night by Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office deputies after returning to the scene of where he broke into the day before. Dakota Babin, 27, was arrested at the Blue Hornet Country Store, 6409 Hwy. 258 South, after Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office B-Shift deputies received a call he was back on the premises. Babin, who has multiple outstanding warrants in Onslow County, was a suspect in a break-in at the same store on Thursday. LCSO deputies had investigated that break-in earlier Friday before Babin returned later that evening.

Xi Beta Upsilon was on the move in 2023-2024, from Williamsburg & Busch Gardens to dining in Emerald Isle, kayaking near Swansboro, and touring Airlie Gardens in Wilmington. In Kinston, we watched "Dueling Pianos" at the Country Club to help United Way. And we toured and made donations at both the House of Hope for Women and the new SPCA. XBU members are Lois Charlton, Sandra Braxton, Debbie Smith, Diane Bowen, Sandra Thompson, Jan Fly, Donna Grady, Jessica Shimer, Shelby Smith, Nan Dale, and Cindy Mills.
Impaired Lenoir County woman flees from officers
Officers on KPD's D-Squad were searching the area of the 1300 block of W Washington Avenue for a report of shots fired. Officers were on foot searching the street for evidence from the initial call when 24-year-old Lenoir County resident, Shaniya Thompson approached at a high rate of speed and almost struck one of the officers. Officers attempted a vehicle stop with Thompson and she began to flee. Officers pursued Thompson until the pursuit was terminated by the officers due to another shots fired call.

Detectives with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office General Investigative Division and SCARR (Street Crimes and Ready Response) team located John Anthony Rouse, 52, at 6275 N.C. 111 in Wilson.

WILSON, N.C. (WITN) - A fugitive from Pink Hill was arrested in Wilson today after failing to register as a sex offender in Jones County. Detectives from the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office General Investigative Division and SCARR team found 52-year-old John Rouse at 6275 N.C. 111. Assisted by Wilson County deputies, they arrested him without incident and took him to the Lenoir County jail.
