Admittedly small CPD rant.

So, apparently it's fine for CPD officers to use their authority park in a lane on one of downtown's major traffic arteries just so they can pop into a convenience store. I parked in street parking on the side of Broad next to No Hard Feelings tonight just before 9 PM and an officer pulled up next to Ria's and just parks in the lane. No attempt to move to the side of the road or not impede the flow of traffic when there is ample space out of the lane next to where they parked (in an admittedly no parking zone, but ffs, get out of the lane. At least don't be an absolute prick about it) Goes into Ria's for about 3 or 4 minutes and walks back to his patrol car with a bag of snacks. There was no altercation. They weren't responding to a call. No flashing lights other than the hazards. I actually walked into Ria's right after them as they were finishing a transaction at the register. I know it's such a small thing compared to literally every other complaint about the police, but this kind of shit irritates the hell out of me. If it were anybody else and a cop happened upon it, odds are that they're gonna get a ticket or at the very least a talking to, but it's fine if they do it? The double standard is irritating, to say the least.

Tyrants. Gave me a parking ticket for parking because my car was facing the wrong way on my residential street. This is just unacceptable, if they’re getting dinner, or a snack..they need to find and pay for the parking just like the rest of us.

we've been here since 2006, and i can say that Chattanooga pd don't bother ya until you get their attention. these guys have to deal with the crazy hoodies shooting one another almost daily, and this latest Mayoral pick of a chief was a disaster.
