So my 15y.o. son and I took his brand new 114mm Orion Reflector Telescope out to look at the stars. See, Harrison Bay State Park has a dedicated starwalk, my son wants to work in astronomy some day and we got him this friggin' wicked reflector scope with an equatorial mount. Anyways, all this to say how eager we were when we arrived at the Harrison Bay State Park's dedicated star walk. We had spent half-an-hour finding just the right position and had finally set it up - my son had literally just put his eye to the eyepiece when suddenly *BLAMMO* we get blinded by blue lights. So we walk allll the way back to the car holding our hands over our eyes to shield our vision from the sudden unexpected glare, and when we get up to him he says, "It's too late. You guys can't be here." I respond, fairly enough, that "It's a star walk." And i point to the sign. Dude could have just replied that he was sorry, he knows I'm just having a good night with my son, that he doesn't make the laws or anything, he could have come out and acted curious and checked out the view, he could have done anything, but instead he decides to tell me and MY FIFTEEN YEAR OLD KID, "Doesn't matter, it's after 10pm and it's a felony to be tresspassing." WT Actual F??? IT'S A STAR WALK!!!
