    Friday's local roundup, results: Top of order, closer boost Bravehearts

    Futures Collegiate League

    Bravehearts 7, Brockton 4: The top four hitters in the order — Shea Grady, Owen Pincince, Dylan LaPointe (3 runs) and Matt Milone (2 RBIs) each had two hits, and Joe Mulhern posted the save with three perfect innings and three strikeouts as visiting Worcester (18-15) topped the Rox (11-21) at Campanelli Stadium.

    The Bravehearts scored two runs in the fifth on errors, then two more in the sixth on a hit by pitch and walk with the bases loaded for a 7-4 lead.

    American Legion

    Leominster 7, Shrewsbury 6: Ashton Molzahn walked with one out in the eighth inning, stole second base and scored on an outfield error for Post 151, then Ryan Garner struck out J.J. Ferguson with the tying run on second to secure Leominster's ninth straight victory, its second of the night at Fitton Field.

    Justin Mariani's RBI single capped a four-run seventh to give Leominster (16-1, 11-1 District 4) a 6-5 lead, but Noah Basgaard delivered the tying run with a single in the bottom half for Shrewsbury (8-4 District 4).

    Leominster 8, Main South 2: No. 9 hitter Brendan Mariani went 4 for 4 with two RBIs, and Cam Marshall was 3 for 5 as Post 151 won its first game of the night at Fitton.

    Matt Kelly and Emilio Silva-Rosa each had two hits for Main South (3-10).

    PNJ Senior Ruth

    South Side 9, Sturbridge 4: Alex Perry, Aiden Mercado and Adam Gage (double) connected for run-scoring hits in a five-run seventh inning for visiting South Side (5-15), which pulled away from the Crush (7-9) at Turners Club Field.

    Nolan Libby homered for South Side. Petey Casine had two of Sturbridge's three hits.
