Troop 382 Builds New Footbridge for Westborough’s Sandra Pond
By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Boy Scout Troop 382 has helped the Westborough Department of Public Works and Conservation Land Trust build a new footbridge over the Sandra Pond spillway. A spokesman for the Land Trust’s Stewardship Committee tells the Community Advocates the 24-foot-long footbridge is a great example of community collaboration. Officials say the goal is to keep hikers and fishermen from crossing the spillway and causing more damage to it. The DPW is next planning to build a path on both sides of the bridge.

Select Board continues discussion on proposed firearms business bylaw
WESTFORD — The Select Board recently discussed updates on a proposed bylaw to regulate firearms businesses, which is slated to be presented to voters later this year. This proposal would define and regulate firearm businesses separately from other businesses. It would limit new firearm businesses to the commercial highway and industrial highway zoning districts, as well as require a special permit from the Planning Board.

Woman walking bicycle killed cross Bedford street; driver cited
A woman was killed by a driver who had a suspended license and may have been on his phone around the time of the crash in Bedford, Massachusetts, Saturday, authorities said. The woman, a 53-year-old from Concord, was walking her bicycle across Concord Street where it intersects with the Reformatory Bike Path when she was hit by a Volkswagen GTI about 3:36 p.m., according to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office and Bedford police. The car's driver, a 34-year-old man from Billerica, stayed at the scene.
