Los Angeles Vacant Residential Fire on Detroit St Too Close to WeHo City Limits
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD)on Thursday, July 25, responded to a fire in a vacant residential home located at 1432 N Detroit Street around 4:48 p.m., about a block north of the West Hollywood city limits. The fire was contained and nearing a knockdown by 4:58 p.m. After a thorough search, no one was found inside. The cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation. No injuries from the fire have been reported at this time.
Red O Taste of Mexico Now Anticipates Opening in Fall 2024 at The Promenade at Westlake
The Red O Taste of Mexico sign at The Promenade at Westlake has been updated to show a Fall 2024 opening date. We first learned of this eatery coming when The Grill On The Alley closed in late October 2022. As Council formally opposes Promenade sign, its owner threatens legal action
The City Council has again denounced a sign on the Third Street Promenade that criticizes local leaders over drug use and crime in the city. Property owner John Alle has installed a series of banners on his storefront over the past two years. The banners have consistently blamed drug use for problems in the city but have increasingly targeted specific individuals including the City Manager and Councilmembers over a needle distribution program operated by the County’s health department.
