Newsbreak Journalist. It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Greetings, I'm Dez Stackz, an artist hailing from Broward County, Florida. I've been deeply immersed in the music scene for approximately seven years. My journey began in 2014 when I was in college, and I found myself at a crossroads, uncertain about my academic path. It was during this moment that I made the bold decision to leave college and wholeheartedly pursue a career in music. I had a close friend who was deeply involved in the music scene, and it was through his encouragement and support that I embarked on my musical journey. He played a pivotal role in the creation of my first track, "Chevy." Not only did he help pen my verses, but he also provided invaluable guidance on delivery and performance. Once I grasped the basics, I took the initiative to hone my songwriting skills and began experimenting with recording on GarageBand using my computer.

Over time, my dedication and practice paid off, and I owe a significant debt of gratitude to my friend for being the catalyst for my music career. As the days turned into months and years, I found inspiration from various sources, which contributed to my growth as an artist. I began performing at small open mic events and local clubs, steadily building my confidence and presence in the music scene. Later on, I crossed paths with my current boyfriend, who is equally passionate about music. His influence and expertise have been instrumental in shaping my artistic journey. He played a crucial role in refining my song selection process, guiding me on crafting captivating hooks, and enhancing my verse-writing skills. It's impossible not to acknowledge his invaluable contributions because he played a pivotal role in nurturing the artist I've become today. Exploring various sounds and honing my unique voice, I gave birth to Dez Stackz, an unstoppable force ready to conquer the world.

Newsbreak Journalist. I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Undoubtedly, my journey has been far from easy. As many emerging artists know, breaking into the industry presents a myriad of challenges. I encountered difficulties such as connecting with the wrong individuals who attempted to exploit my inexperience. Financial hurdles often arose when financing various projects and music videos. Balancing the demands of daily life with the pursuit of my dream could be quite challenging, especially when considering the significant expenses involved.

At times, I found myself without a job, making it difficult to support my musical aspirations adequately. I could only afford studio time once a month. Thankfully, I have grown and learned to make more informed decisions, finding a balance and making necessary sacrifices to advance my music career.

Newsbreak Journalist. Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

I specialize in songwriting, and my passion lies in the creative process of crafting music. I'm proficient in a variety of genres, including R&B, rap, rock, and pop. What sets me apart from the competition is my willingness to push boundaries and explore new territories, even if it means stepping out of my comfort zone. I'm committed to studying the work of the greatest artists to enhance my own skills and produce exceptional music. When it comes to selecting the best candidate, my versatility, dedication, and the desire to create outstanding music make me an excellent choice. I'm not one to toot my own horn, but my track record speaks for itself.

Newsbreak Journalist. What first got you into music?

I was always a dreamer, but I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do. The idea of being in the spotlight intrigued me, but I never really considered becoming a musician until I spent time with a close friend who was already deeply involved in music. It was recording my first song in his home studio that ignited my passion for music and set me on this path.

Newsbreak Journalist. Who inspired you to make music?

I draw inspiration from various artists and musicians, but if I had to pinpoint someone who deeply inspired me to make music, it would be my close friend who initially introduced me to the world of music. His guidance, support, and collaboration on my first song played a significant role in inspiring me to pursue a career in music. I can’t forget my boyfriend as well who shaped me into being the full package. So, shout out to both of those guys.

Newsbreak Journalist. How would you describe the music that you typically create?

My primary focus is on crafting a fusion of rap and R&B music, although I do occasionally venture into creating captivating pop and rock tracks when the mood strikes.

Newsbreak Journalist. What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

The best piece of advice I can offer to those seeking success is to prioritize fulfilling your purpose for yourself rather than for anyone else. It's easy to become entangled in trying to live up to the expectations of our parents, partners, or others, and we may lose sight of our true calling. To achieve success, discover your purpose, take control of your life, and pursue your dreams with unwavering determination.

Newsbreak Journalist. Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Success, to me, means living the life I've always envisioned. As I mentioned earlier, fulfilling my own purpose and being able to wake up one morning and say, "I did it," is deeply satisfying.

At present, I'm focused on generating additional content for my music, creating more videos and music, and promoting my current EP titled "333."
