Woman dies in early-morning crash on I-96
Drugs, alcohol and speed are suspected to be contributing factors in an early-morning crash on I-96 that killed a 23-year-old Jackson woman on Saturday. According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the scene of the single-vehicle crash west of Nicholson Road in Handy Township at about 2:37 a.m. The preliminary investigation shows that a 2017 Dodge Durango was heading west on I-96 when it left the right side of the road, struck a tree, and then overturned several times.
