IAMA Friday Night Spaghetti Dinners a Big Hit
Every last Friday of the month the IAMA in Long Branch serves a homemade spaghetti dinner, that includes much more than just spaghetti with bread, salad and dessert. If you’re not a pasta person there’s also meatballs, ziti, sausage and peppers, chicken parmigiana, linguine with clam sauce and pasta fagioli. This is all for only $12 per person. Wine and other beverages can be purchased at the bar, manned by David Pizzo.

BTHS alumna receives Sharing Network Foundation scholarship
BRICK TOWNSHIP — Kimmy Kenny of Brick Township, who is a 2024 graduate of Brick Township High School, was one of seven high school students awarded scholarships from the Sharing Network Foundation. Earlier this month, they were presented the scholarships at NJ Sharing Network’s headquarters in New Providence. Kenny will be attending Ocean County College (OCC) and told The Ocean Star that she plans to attend OCC for two years before transferring into a four year college.

Council approves cut-it-and-leave-it policy
POINT PLEASANT BEACH — The Point Pleasant Beach mayor and council approved a resolution supporting a cut-it-and-leave-it environmental policy in the borough, where homeowners are being encouraged to leave grass clippings on their lawns after mowing. This statewide initiative is intended to both save homeowners money on municipal waste pickup as well as divert the clippings away from solid waste streams, according to a press release about the resolution from the Point Pleasant Beach Environmental Commission.
