Wife and Mother Sharon Abel Retired from the University of Michigan
Sharon Ann Abel, age 80, of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, with her family by her side. Sharon was born on August 5, 1943, to the late Homer K. Dodge and Emma J. (Morato) Dodge. On September 30, 1961, she married Billy J. Abel. Sharon is survived by her husband, her three children, Teresa (Matthew) Hagood of Milan, Lesli (Scott) Bicknell of Colorado, Michelle (Brian) Riggs of Ann Arbor; six grandchildren, Mollie (Joshua) McGuire, Emma (Brandon) Bell, Hannah (Adam) Pummell, Garret (Megan) Bicknell, Gavin Bicknell, Marz Riggs; and three great-grandchildren, Colton and Hunter Bell, and Harper McGuire. She was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Emma Dodge, and brother Richard Dodge.

New Jackson College Jets Air Station Opening Today
(July 8, 2024 7:33 AM ET) Jackson College will open the new Jets Air Station to college and community members today. After months of anticipation, the finishing touches have been made, and the Jets Air Station is ready to welcome guests. The hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays & Sundays (hours may change based on usage). This brand-new inflatable air dome provides more space for college athletics, student and community workouts, and public events. Inside, the Air Station features a rubberized floor with four basketball courts, four volleyball courts, six pickleball courts, and two tennis courts. A marked walking track surrounds the perimeter of the athletic courts. The starting setup includes one tennis court, a volleyball court, a basketball court, and a pickleball court, which may change based on usage.
