Hawesville Moving Forward with Water Meter pilot
As reported in The Clarion in June, the Hawesville City Council were given a presentation by sales representatives from Fortiline Meter Company. The decision was made to go forward with a pilot/test run of 20 of those new water meters since then, as all of the City’s current meters are out of warranty. At the July 9th meeting, updates were provided on how that ultrasonic system is operating.
Braxton Rhodes Receives Heartwarming Community Support Post ATV Accident
Family, friends, classmates, and teachers gathered for a prayer vigil this week in the hope of complete healing for Braxton Rhodes of Whitesville. Braxton was involved in an ATV accident on Thursday evening where he was then flown to Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville. The young man is being treated for various injuries. Indiana DNR Accepting Applications for Shooting Range Grants
The DNR Shooting Range Grant Program is accepting applications for the development of rifle, handgun, shotgun firing, and archery opportunities for public use. While growing up in southern Indiana, I always looked forward to trips to the shooting range. I started out at just seven years old with a simple single shot .22 rifle, before making my way up to a 12-gauge shotgun around the age of 11. Eventually, I was given the opportunity to fire a few different handguns. The hobby has stuck with me through the years, and I've since become fascinated with old military surplus rifles. I still make regular trips to the shooting range today.
