Motorcyclist arrested after crashing during police chase
WHITESBURG, Ky. — A Letcher County man is in jail after court records allege he crashed his motorcycle while running from police. A Whitesburg police officer spotted Hayden Andrew Sandlin, 23, of Whitesburg, run a red light on his Harley Davidson. The officer relayed the information to a Letcher County sheriff’s deputy, who got behind the bike to pull it over. The police report says Sandlin sped away instead, prompting a chase along U.S. 119.

JEREMIAH, Ky. (WCYB) — A woman was found dead in Letcher County with injuries that appear to be consistent with an animal attack, according to Kentucky State Police. Officials responded to a call in the Doty Creek area in the Jeremiah community around 1 a.m. on Sunday. When they arrived, they discovered a 57-year-old Trina Sandlin, of Jeremiah. Sandlin was pronounced dead at the scene.
