A developer wants to build a row of lakefront mansions in Mandeville. Neighbors aren’t happy.
Along a stretch of undisturbed lakefront west of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in Mandeville, a developer has a plan to build a row of multi-million-dollar homes. But first, he’ll have to get past vocal neighbors who have lodged dozens of formal complaints about the project, claiming that it will lead to disturbing truck traffic in their affluent neighborhood, as well as environmentalists who say the plan may disturb fish nurseries and contribute to the loss of natural coastline that is already well underway across the state.
