It's Thursday and we've found more information on the current SPC Levelland Library three-story building from back when it was being built on campus in 1967. According to the Plainsman Press the current Library building was the first building in a seven-area building program on our campus. The other buildings included

It's Thursday and we've found more information on the current SPC Levelland Library three-story building from back when it was being built on campus in 1967. According to the Plainsman Press the current Library building was the first building in a seven-area building program on our campus. The other buildings included in the program were: The Health-Education, Technical, and Business, Student Center, Science, and Fine Arts Buildings! The article boasts that the new library building would give the South Plains College in Levelland one of the largest "assortment" (s) of books of any junior college in the State! How did we get these buildings built and paid for, well, it says in the article that there were 27 applications from public junior colleges and that South Plains College was one of 13 colleges who received grants totaling $5, 054, 549.00. As the years pass by, we are changing with the times. We will soon have a newly remodeled space on the first floor to boast about. If you are interested in finding out more about our plans for the library or would like to get involved, please reach out to us anytime! Great things are happening, and it's so nice to see a positive blast from the past on this #throwbackthursday. It's pretty awesome to be able to look back on the early days and reflect. Thank you to the Plainsman Press and the hard work of our library staff for binding these collect newspapers and keeping our history safe.
