    Levelland hosts non-profit youth finals rodeo

    LUBBOCK, Texas — Levelland will host the Junior Rodeo Cowboys Association (JRCA) finals rodeo from July 10 through 13 at the Mallet Arena and Event Center.

    JRCA is a non-profit organization that serves the rodeo interests of youth, ages 3 through 19 throughout the Texas Panhandle, North West Texas and Western Oklahoma.

    Slaton ISD mourning loss of school police officer

    On Wednesday, July 10, the rodeo will kick off at 7 p.m. with a mother and son ribbon roping, a scholarship rodeo and a father and daughter goat tying. Rodeo performances will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, July 11 and 12. There will be a benefit team roping benefit on July 11 at 6 p.m. The award ceremony is at 9 a.m. on July 13.

    The event is free to the public.
