    Town of Leverett celebrates 250th birthday with parade

    LEVERETT, Mass. (WWLP) – The Town of Leverett is holding a parade on Saturday in honor of celebrating the town’s 250th birthday.

    The celebrations will begin with a parade at 10 AM and the town will hold a community barbeque afterward starting at 12:30 PM.

    According to the Leverett Police Department, Montague Road will stay open to two-way traffic until the parade starts. Parking will still be on the east side of Montague Road and all traffic must face north. Once the parade kicks off, Montague Road will only be one way headed north from Putney Road to Cave Hill Road until the BBQ ends.

    Shuttle stops will be along the stretch that will pick people up and get them to the school. When the parade begins, Depot Rpad from Amherst Road and Long Hill Road intersection will be closed. Depot Road at Shutesbury Road and the town common area will be closed. These roads will stay closed until the parade has made its way to the Elementary School.
