Traffic will be tied up this week and into August in the area of I-95 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike near the Levittown/Bristol exit, the state advised Wednesday.

There will be a change in traffic patterns due to ongoing bridge rehabilitation project, the turnpike commission said.

Construction will affect all drivers, in all direction, in the area of the Levittown/Bristol interchange (Exit 42) on the turnpike and I-95. Motorists in the affected areas should expect to see a temporary stop sign when merging onto traffic from the interchange, heading northbound onto I-95 toward the Delaware River Bridge and New Jersey Turnpike.

Those traveling in the area are cautioned to drive slowly and be prepared to stop frequently and suddenly due to the slow traffic pace that is necessary for the safety of construction workers and motorists on the affected roads. Turnpike maintenance and state police vehicles will restrict Turnpike traffic to the appropriate speed.

While construction is expected to last through August 11, work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions. To find out more information about the construction and affected traffic patterns, visit Traveling on the PA Turnpike | PA Turnpike.
