How did millions get slipped into bill for religious construction without taxpayers knowing?
I have just learned through a Sept. 17 ProPublica article that Ohio is now providing millions of taxpayer dollars to cover construction costs for religious schools, including building renovation, improvements to playgrounds and other projects. This is the result of a capital appropriations bill that cleared the Ohio legislature, a bill which ProPublica reports included “at least $4 million” in private school grants.

Westerville school board considers changing policy on absences for religious instruction
WESTERVILLE, Ohio — The Westerville City School Board is now considering changing its policy on religious release time. If the board removes the policy, students will no longer be allowed to attend LifeWise Academy, a nonprofit that provides religious classes during the school day off-site.
