Hard cider and wine bar in Cumberland County is closing
Grand Illusion Hard Cider in Carlisle is closing its wine and cider bar on July 21. Owners Chad and Andrea Kimmel on Monday announced the closure and eventual sale of their taproom at 26 W. High St., noting the decision was based on increased costs and decreased sales creating an “unstable business climate.”

Moped driver dies after crash with tractor-trailer on I-81 in Cumberland County
A moped driver merged in front of a tractor-trailer right before a fatal Sunday night crash on Interstate 81 in Hampden Township, police said. Richard T. Fletcher, 70, of Manchester, was in the right lane of I-81 south near mile marker 59.4 around 11:48 p.m., when he merged into the left lane in front of the truck, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
