Driver found dead after truck explosion causes road closures, evacuations in Clifton
A driver has been found dead after a large truck exploded and caught fire, which prompted road closures and traffic delays in Clifton on Monday morning.It happened on Route 3 near East Valley Road around 9 a.m. but the large mess left behind will likely take a while to be cleaned up.Route 3 is closed in both directions -- eastbound lanes are closed at Route 46 and westbound lanes are closed at Grove Street.Officials with the Department of Transportation think those closures could continue through the evening commute.The fire chief said the crash happened when the box truck was rear-ended...

First Selectman Fred Camillo has announced the hiring of Kathleen Buch as the new Town Administrator and COO. Her hiring is effective September 23, 2024.
