Man accused of murdering his ex in South Nashville dies in prison
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The man accused of murdering his ex in 2021 has died behind bars, the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) confirms. James Leggett was serving time for the death of 24-year-old Michaela Carter. He died on July 4 at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution. TDOC tells FOX 17 News his cause of death is pending determination by the medical examiner.
