    Obituary: Irene Frances Snyder, 106

    Irene Frances Snyder

    Irene Frances Snyder, 106, of Lewisburg, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Seasons Place in Lewisburg.

    She was born September 9, 1917, in Auto, WV, a daughter of the late Alexander Jacob Perry and Lucy Winters Fuell Perry.

    Irene was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church at Asbury for over 80 years, where she served as treasurer, Sunday School teacher, and was a strong supporter of the Church Missions Society. She was also a member of the Concerned Women for America. She was a retired Postmaster and store manager at Asbury, WV, for many years.

    In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Herman Snyder, in 2001; one sister; and three brothers.

    Irene is survived by her daughter, Aletha Karen Snyder and husband, Mike Ambrosi; a son, Charles Edward Snyder; three grandchildren, Alexander Ambrosi, Annalise Ambrosi, and Aaron Snyder; and two great-grandchildren; also surviving are two sisters, Vera Lee Legg and Wanda Williams; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    Funeral service was 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Asbury Emmanuel United Methodist Church at Asbury, WV, with Pastor Sharon Howard and Pastor Jesse Pope officiating. Burial followed in the Fletcher Addition of the Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, WV.

    A reception followed the interment at the Asbury Community Center.

    In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Asbury Community Center, 754 Claude Miller Road, Asbury, WV 24916.
