    “I have always said Lewisburg gave me roots and wings,” Mary Claire reminisces, describing her upbringing filled with educational and cultural opportunities. From exploring the Greenbrier State Forest to performing at the Greenbrier Valley Theatre, her hometown provided a rich foundation that allowed her to thrive both locally and globally.

    Mary Claire fondly recalls how local educators encouraged learning beyond traditional classrooms, turning places like the Greenbrier River and the Green Bank Telescope control room into her learning spaces.
