Jamestown Man Sought for Burglary Arrested After Bike Pursuit
A Jamestown man who was wanted for multiple burglary and petit larceny counts was taken into custody after he tried to flee from police officers on his bicycle Sunday morning. Jamestown Police were conducting a warrant check at about 9:00 AM when they saw 43-year-old Alberto Narvaez-Aponte on Prendergast Avenue. Officers approached Narvaez-Aponte before he fled on his bike and led them on a brief pursuit. Officers say Narvaez-Aponte wrecked his bike and was taken into custody. In addtion to two counts of 3rd-degree burglary and three counts of petit larceny, Narvaez-Aponte was charged with resisting arrest, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and bicycle City Code violations that occurred during the pursuit.
Ecklund Calls for State Assistance in Dealing with Issue of Homelessness
The City of Jamestown -- and all of Chautauqua County, for that matter -- is pretty much at capacity in trying to deal with the homeless issue. Kendall Todd pulls away from the field to win Women's Porter Cup
Kendall Todd shot rounds of 71-68-69-67 to get to 5-under and win the 2024 Women's Porter Cup at Niagara Country Club in Lewiston, N.Y. Todd saved her best for last, firing a bogey-free 3-under 67 to get to 5-under and defeat Nicole Gal, who finished in solo second place at 3-under. Gal was the 54-hole leader at 4-under, but a final round 1-over 71 saw Todd pass her on the leaderboard.

Just like in 2023, the 2024 Porter Cup Invitational at Niagara Falls Country Club in Lewiston, N.Y., came down to the final hole. (WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. – U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced that Bruno J. Haney, II, 35, of Niagara Falls, NY, has been sentenced to 184 months in prison for his role in leading a significant drug trafficking organization. Haney was convicted of conspiring to possess with intent to distribute and distributing heroin, fentanyl, and butyryl fentanyl.
