Fourth clue is released in Marigold Medallion Hunt
Four clues in the annual Pekin Marigold Festival Marigold Medallion Hunt have been released. The finder of the medallion will win $1,500, courtesy of Jimmy John's. Clues will be released by longtime clue master Gary Gillis at noon each day this week through Friday and at 6:30 a.m. Saturday. If the medallion hasn't been found by then, another clue will be released at 6:30 a.m. next Monday (Labor Day).

One more day before we get relief from the heat and humidity. Cold front #1 will create scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday. There’s a small chance a few of the storms could be strong to severe. Behind cold front #1, we’ll see highs in the mid 80s and less humidity over the weekend. Cold front #2 Sunday will bring even cooler and drier air with highs on Labor Day in the upper 70s. Long term, the pattern looks quiet and warm next week with highs 80 to 85.

Grazing School in Macomb Aims to Help Farmers Cut Feed Costs
Studies show that feed is the number one cost when running a cattle operation, with hay making up a large portion of that cost. To help mitigate the cost of hay in a producer’s operation, many have turned to grazing lands to offset that cost. The longer producers can graze into the season, the greater the impact it will have on the operation’s profitability.
