Informational Video Regarding New Waste Collection by LRS Beginning Next Week
Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) begins collection of trash, recycling, and yard waste on September 1, 2024. Collection services will be delayed by one day next week due to the Labor Day Holiday. The map and recycling schedule are included below. LRS will collect yard waste on Saturday, September 7th, but will return to Friday collection the week of September 9th.
Mulkey’s, Rock Island, closes to diners after 65 years

Galva to hold second citywide cleanup of the year
The City of Galva will be hold a second cleanup week this year beginning Sept. 30 through Oct. 5 for Galva residents only. All residents are asked to bring items to Galva’s Maintenance Yard (use the driveway located between Preferred Home Health Care and Mary’s Family Dining and Lounge) to be placed in a roll off which will be provided by Eagle Enterprises.
