    Child programs

    Nature Notebooks

    • March 16

    Pick up your Nature Notebook at the Lewisville Branch Library starting on March 16 (while supplies last). Find plants that are native to North Carolina in the wild and draw them. When you’ve drawn a plan in each required category, bring your notebook to the Lewisville Branch Library by May 31 for a prize. Each Nature Notebook comes with a packet of wildflower seeds.     Can you find all the hidden objects in the Children’s Room at the Lewisville Branch Library ? Pick up an entry form and start looking. If you find all the objects, you win a prize. One entry per person. While supplies last.

    Ages 3-5 and their caregivers, but all ages are welcome. Join in for stories, fingerplays, songs and activities designed for small children.

    Builders’ Club

    • March 20 at 4 p.m.

    • Lewisville Branch Storytime Room

    The Lewisville Branch Builders’ Club meets the third Wednesday of every month. Bring your creative building skills and come play. Many building supplies will be available, including, including LEGOs, K’Nex and more. All ages welcome.

    Teen programs

    • Dungeons & Dragons Meetup Group

    • March 18 at 3-5 p.m.

    • Lewisville Branch Multipurpose Room

    Ages 13-17 recommended, but all are welcome. Have you ever wanted to learn to play Dungeons & Dragons? Are you an experienced player who would like a place to meet up and have adventures? Join the Lewisville Branch Dungeons & Dragons meetup group. An experienced Game Master will be on hand to teach those who want to learn, and character sheets and dice will be provided.

    Adult programs

    Books for Dudes Book Club

    • March 14 at 6 p.m.

    Are you a dude who likes to read? Are you a dude who is curious what other dudes are reading? Are you a dude who wants to get back into reading, but doesn’t know where to start? Then the Lewisville Branch Library has the perfect book club for you. Join in as dudes share, discuss and recommend their favorite books to other dudes. There will not be a pre-set reading list. The group is recommended for dudes, but all are welcome.

    Composting ABCs

    • March 19 at 2 p.m.

    Did you know composting is an excellent way to take care of our waterways? Celebrate Forsyth Creek Week by learning how to start and maintain your own backyard compost bin or pile. North Carolina Cooperative Extension Agent Rebecca Craps will discuss the benefits of composting, the two main types of compost, the tools you need to get started and more. Registration required.     Witchy Washi & Whatnot Crafts

    • Third Wednesdays from 10-11:30 a.m.

    • March 20

    March craft: Aquatic silhouettes on canvas. The monthly Witchy Washy and Whatnot Craft group is a great place to meet other crafters and learn to make all sorts of fun projects, many of which include the use of washi tape. Space and supplies are limited to first 12 registrants, so call the branch (336-703-2940) to reserve your spot.

    Yoga for Beginners

    • March 21 at noon

    Help uplift your mind and body with yoga classes facilitated by local yoga instructor Tracy O’Neill of YogaCentrix. Sponsored by the Friends of the Lewisville Library . Signed waiver required.

    Color and Coffee

    • Second and fourth Fridays from 10-11:30 a.m.

    March 22

    Color and Coffee is a morning to relax, color, be with others and enjoy a cup of coffee on the house. Coloring sheets, colored pencils and coffee will be available for participants.

    Friends Book Club

    • Fourth Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.

    • March 26

    March’s title: “The Wicked Sister” by Karen Dionne

    The Friends of the Lewisville Library invite all adults to participate in interesting discussions of timely titles. Call 336-703-2940 to reserve a copy. Presented by the Friends of the Lewisville Library .

    Lewisville Branch 2024 Reading Contest

    • Logs due by Saturday, Dec. 14

    • Winner announced on Monday, Dec. 16

    Take part in the yearlong reading contest for your chance to win a $25 gift card to Bookmarks bookstore. The contest has two levels: Beginner and Aficionado. You can choose to read one or both challenges. Beginner entries are entered once. Aficionado entries are entered twice, and if participants complete both, they are entered four times to win. Submit entries by Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024. The winner will be announced on Monday, Dec. 16.
